The PROGRESS initiative is a group of leading Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) companies which aims to positively impact people’s lives through combined leadership of robust responsible sourcing practices. The initiative started in 2016 with several EcoVadis customers who met in the AIM-Progress not-for-profit organization focusing on improving Human Rights in their supply chains.

The member companies share their supplier sustainability assessments on the EcoVadis platform and meet quarterly to discuss the sector view insights, share best practices and plan supplier capacity-building activities organized by EcoVadis as their coordination office. Members prioritized Human Rights with AIM Progress. However, Members realize the need to focus on various sustainability topics to safeguard their operations for several key reasons like regulatory compliance, consumer demand, supply chain resilience, and risk management. Progress Members are concentrating their efforts on supply chain decarbonization in 2024-25 while testing grounds for changing the landscape in the FMCG sector for water management, waste management and biodiversity to name a few.

The members have a steep growth curve of rated suppliers, and more than 10,000 of their rated suppliers already share their EcoVadis scorecards with the current and future Progress members. 77% of these rated companies have improved their score since their first EcoVadis assessment. The PROGRESS Initiative members' supplier base has truly global coverage.
EcoVadis and the external AIM-Progress organization enjoy collaboration and host members’ meetings jointly if the topics are relevant for both sides and add value to the member companies.
