In some cases, at the end of the assessment and rating process, EcoVadis may request an on-site verification of one or more of the sites where your company does business.
This process is called an EcoVadis Site Verification, and it is similar to an Audit, however, it is separate and distinct from any audit requests you may receive from your customers. EcoVadis Site Verifications are conducted for internal quality assurance and methodology verification purposes. We obtain the information from a site verification process to supplement the company-provided evidence, with the goal to improve the reliability of our scorecards and assessment processes.
If your company has provided a valid and relevant sustainability audit report (e.g. recognized protocol, conducted within 2 years), in general, your company would not be selected for the EcoVadis Site Verification process.
EcoVadis Site Verifications are currently conducted by QIMA (previously known as Asia Inspection), an independent contractor who has global coverage, especially in markets with higher risk indicators with regards to social and/or environmental issues (e.g. India, Bangladesh, China). The site verification protocol is based on SA8000.
If your company is selected for this process, EcoVadis will contract this independent auditor who will contact you to schedule and conduct the EcoVadis Site Verification.
There is no additional fee for this process.
Your cooperation with an EcoVadis Site Verification request is greatly appreciated and will assure the timely delivery of your Scorecard results.
