Your EcoVadis Scorecard provides an independent assessment of your company’s sustainability management system performance.
In general, requesting companies are interested in identifying which of their trading partners are engaged in the fundamentals of sustainability, which have sustainability risks that need addressing, and which are top performers.
Here are examples of how many requestors use the EcoVadis results in the case where it is part of a value chain initiative:
- Your company’s score may be used as a new vendor qualification criteria, considered as part of a proposal for new business (e.g. weighted criteria in an RFP/RFQ), as measurement of potential business risks, or to benchmark performance during an annual review.
- If your company’s score is low, you may be prompted to start a corrective action plan. If your company’s score is high, you may be identified as a strategic trading partner.
Ultimately, the way your scorecard is used can differ depending on the requesting company and the circumstances of the request. For more specific information on how the requesting company will use your EcoVadis Scorecard, contact them directly.
