The EcoVadis score (0–100) reflects the quality of a company’s sustainability management system at the time of the assessment. EcoVadis medals and badges recognize companies that have completed the EcoVadis Sustainability Rating assessment and demonstrated, relative to other assessed companies, a strong management system addressing sustainability criteria, as outlined in the EcoVadis methodology. The eligibility criteria for medals and badges are reviewed periodically.
Please note: For questionnaires submitted after September 30, 2025 the scorecard may be published in 2026. This timeline does not apply to companies with a Select subscription. The medal or badge will specify the month and year in which the scorecard is published.

Scope
A medal or badge is only applicable to the assessed entity and not to any affiliated entity such as a parent or sister company, site, or subsidiary.
Validity
EcoVadis medals and badges are valid for 12 months, in line with the validity period of the scorecard on which they are awarded.
Note: The standard scorecard publication timeframe is 6–8 weeks after questionnaire submission. The publication date determines:
- which year’s eligibility rules apply, and
- the date associated with any medal or badge earned.
Medals
Platinum - Top 1% (99+ percentile)
Gold - Top 5% (95+ percentile)
Silver - Top 15% (85+ percentile)
Bronze - Top 35% (65+ percentile)
The percentile rank of a company is calculated at the time of scorecard publication and appears at the top of the scorecard. It compares a company’s performance with all assessed companies in our database over the previous 12 months. The percentile rank is calculated across all companies in all industries, not per industry.
A company is not eligible for a medal if its theme score is below 30 in any of the four themes: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.
Note on medal thresholds
Since 2024, EcoVadis medals are based on percentile rank rather than fixed score thresholds that require annual updates. This approach ensures that recognition reflects a company’s performance relative to all assessed companies at the time of scorecard publication, particularly as sustainability performance evolves.
As a result, score thresholds for medals are not published, as they may shift. You can learn more about this approach here.
Badges
Committed: A minimum score of 45
Fast Mover: A score between 34-44 with a minimum 6-point improvement compared to the previous assessment in an 18-month period.
Note: Companies that earn an EcoVadis medal are not eligible for an EcoVadis badge. A company in the top 35% based on its percentile rank may earn a Committed badge instead of a medal if it doesn’t meet all other medal eligibility criteria required.
