How to extend your partner’s questionnaire submission deadline

EcoVadis sets a deadline for your trading partner to complete and submit their questionnaire, but you can extend it directly on the platform if they need more time. This article covers how a trading partner can extend a supplier's deadline on their behalf.

Extending a trading partner's deadline

If you are a requesting company and your trading partner needs more time, you can extend their deadline directly from your platform:

  • Find the trading partner in your Network list, or on their sustainability profile under the Activity History tab — either view shows partners with a questionnaire in progress;

  • Click Extend deadline next to their name;
  • In the pop-up, select the new deadline date;
  • Confirm the extension, then let your trading partner know it's been extended.

Note: Extending deadlines in batch mode is not available — each extension is done individually.

When an extension isn't available

Extending a deadline may not be possible in a few situations:

  • Your company did not invite the trading partner for this assessment — a requesting company cannot extend a deadline for a partner invited by a different requesting company;
  • The questionnaire deadline has already expired. If it isn't submitted or extended before the deadline, the questionnaire closes and can no longer be accessed. If the trading partner contacts us within 6 months of the questionnaire being created, we may be able to reopen it;
  • The deadline has already been extended by more than 60 business days in total;
  • The trading partner was invited as part of a request for proposal (RFP) program.

If you still need to adjust a deadline in one of these situations, contact us and include the trading partner's legal entity name and the new deadline date you'd like to set.
