Update on Monthly Medal Thresholds

The EcoVadis score (0–100) reflects the quality of a company's sustainability management system at the time of the assessment. EcoVadis medals recognize companies that have demonstrated a strong management system relative to other assessed companies.

Because our medals (Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze) are attributed based on percentile rank rather than fixed, static scores, the exact score required to reach a specific percentile,  fluctuates. This is because the threshold is based on a live database that is constantly changing according to the performance of the global network.

EcoVadis publishes the exact score thresholds that were required to meet each percentile tier on a monthly basis.

Note on Publication Dates: The applicable threshold for your assessment is determined by the month in which your scorecard is published, not the date your questionnaire was submitted. The standard scorecard publication timeframe is 6–8 weeks after submission.

Scope

Score thresholds apply universally to all assessed entities. Percentile ranks and their corresponding score thresholds are calculated across all companies in all industries, sizes and geographies.  

Current Monthly Thresholds & Intra-Month Shifts

To earn a medal recognition, an overall score must meet or exceed the required threshold at the time of scorecard publication.

Monthly thresholds are calculated using database parameters taken on the first day of each month. Because new assessments are added continuously, the score required to reach a specific percentile rank may shift over the course of the month .

For October 2026 (based on data from October 1st), the initial score thresholds required to reach each percentile rank are as follows:

How Thresholds Are Calculated

Percentile ranks compare an entity's performance against all assessed companies in the EcoVadis database over the preceding 12 months. On the first day of each calendar month, EcoVadis establishes a snapshot of the score boundaries for the Top 1%, 5%, 15%, and 35% based on this rolling 12-month period.  As network sustainability performance evolves, percentile thresholds adjust accordingly. Monthly snapshot releases provide a benchmark reflecting relative network performance.  

Other eligibility criteria

Attaining the minimum overall score threshold is one component of medal eligibility. Additional eligibility criteria apply: 

• Theme Minimums: Medal eligibility requires a minimum score of 30 in each of the four assessment themes (Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement).
• 360° Watch & Industry Restrictions: Assessed entities must meet the required thresholds for 360° Watch findings and must not operate in restricted commercial sectors (e.g., Weapons, Tobacco, Coal).

What monthly thresholds do NOT represent

Published monthly thresholds:

• Are not static performance targets: Scores shift across publication cycles and do not serve as permanent targets for future evaluations. A score achieving a Silver medal in one period may correspond to a Bronze tier in a subsequent period due to relative performance shifts across the network.
• Do not alter previously published medals: Upon scorecard publication, earned medals remain valid for 12 months based on the thresholds active at the exact time of publication. Subsequent threshold shifts during or after the publication month do not retroactively modify awarded medals
