Scorecard validity
As sustainability standards, international regulations, and customer expectations constantly evolve, companies must improve by participating in regular sustainability assessments. Following international standards, EcoVadis sustainability scorecards remain valid for twelve (12) months from the publication date. After twelve (12) months from your last assessment, new sharing requests your company receives will trigger a reassessment process.
To check the validity of your scorecard, log in to the EcoVadis platform and go to My Performance in the main menu. The validity date is indicated on the Scorecard tab next to the publication date.
One reassessment is included in each annual subscription. Upon completing the assessment, you will receive a new scorecard with a new publication date. Click here to learn more.
Note: While an annual sustainability reassessment is recommended as best practice, specific requesting companies may have different requirements. If a requesting company - or you - desire a more frequent reassessment (more than once during a subscription period, for example, to consider improvements you have implemented), you can purchase additional assessments. Check with the requesting companies directly to clarify their expectations.
How does the reassessment process work?
Here are a few examples of when a company may choose to initiate the reassessment process:
- If their scorecard has expired;
- If they have not met their trading partner’s minimum score requirement and have been directed by their trading partner to be reassessed;
- If they have additional documents and information not provided during the previous assessment.
Before starting a reassessment, we recommend you understand your previous score and review the information and guidance provided within your scorecard. You can find all this information and more in this article: How to read my scorecard results and work on improvements? Once ready, you can start your reassessment in the EcoVadis platform. For more information and instructions, see What is an available assessment?
How to request a reassessment
All EcoVadis subscriptions include one assessment per subscription year (i.e. with a 3-year subscription, you get one assessment and two reassessments). Getting reassessed enables your company to demonstrate an improvement in sustainability performance and update the scorecard.
To start a reassessment:
- Go to www.ecovadis-survey.com/app/.
- Log in using your username (your email address) and password. A "forgot password" link is also available on the login page.
- Open the user menu in the top right corner of the page. Go to the Subscription & Billing page. You can check your available reassessments in the first box on the right.
- If you have a reassessment available, use it at your convenience to update your company’s scorecard at no additional cost. Click “Start reassessment” to begin your reassessment. You will be asked to confirm your company’s current employee range so that EcoVadis can prepare an updated questionnaire for your company. Your company’s primary contact will be notified by email when your new questionnaire is ready.
- If you do not have an available assessment, you can already start working on your questionnaire, but to submit it, you'll need to purchase a new assessment for an additional fee equivalent to the following:
- 50% of the annual Basic subscription price for Basic, Premium and Corporate plan subscribers;
- 50% of the annual Select subscription price for Select plan subscribers.
You can check the current prices at www.ecovadis.com/plans-pricing/.
- For Basic, Premium and Corporate subscribers: you can click “Purchase new assessment”.
You will be asked to confirm your company’s current employee range so that EcoVadis can prepare an updated questionnaire for your company. Next, verify your company’s billing information and choose a payment method. To confirm and submit your order, click “Confirm order.”
- For Select subscribers: please contact us directly.
As soon as your questionnaire is ready, we will notify the primary contact at your company by email.
Note: If your renewal date is approaching, you may decide to wait for your company’s new subscription period to start, as it will include a reassessment.
Will you keep my documents/answers from last year's assessment?
Upon a reassessment, some of the answers are pre-filled in your questionnaire - approximately twenty to fifty percent (20-50%). These answers were entered during your previous assessment and provided with your previously uploaded documents to save you time. Documents uploaded in the previous assessment can be found in the Document Library. You can add new documents to your current questionnaire if needed. However, if you disassociate previously assessed documents linked to the questionnaire, some related information from previous assessments may be removed, resulting in changes in assessment results.
Do documents from previous assessments count toward the 55-document limit?
No, documents from the previous assessments do not count toward the 55-document limit for the current assessment. This means 55 new documents can be uploaded for each assessment (or reassessment) on top of those from previous assessments. (you can have up to 110 documents by your second assessment, 165 documents by the third, etc.).
Please note that our system will automatically remove expired documents. You do not need to remove expired documents manually.
What's the difference between a first assessment versus a reassessment? Is my company assessed differently?
A reassessment is a new assessment that can be triggered to build upon the information provided in your first assessment. Reassessments can be requested anytime but are generally suggested to be performed annually. They allow companies to provide more documentation to improve their scores, such as mitigating improvement areas.
Reassessments are subject to changes in the EcoVadis methodology that were implemented before the commencement of your reassessment. For example, methodology changes on June 1st will apply directly to a reassessment that commences after the date (June 2nd onwards). Check here to view a list of changes in our methodology released quarterly.
Why do I get a new questionnaire for every reassessment?
Since we are continuously working to improve our methodology, the questionnaire is constantly developing. As such, any new or modified questions for your industry, company size, and location cannot be pre-filled. For example, we develop new answer options or improve the questions' wording to facilitate understanding. In addition, the questions concerning your company’s performance metrics (e.g. Scope 1 GHG emissions, water consumption) are generally not filled out as these values are subject to constant change. If the answers are not pre-filled, select an appropriate option and attach the relevant supporting documents as evidence to support your answer.
How do I access my previous questionnaire(s)?
If you want to check answers from your previous questionnaire(s), please follow the steps below on your EcoVadis platform:
1. Select My Performance in the main menu.
2. Select the scorecard publication date at the top of the scorecard.
3. Click "Download questionnaire" in the top right corner to download a PDF version in your preferred language.
Are my Corrective Action Plans taken into consideration?
Corrective Action Plans are an additional feature activated after an assessment and are not considered in the scoring for your EcoVadis assessment. Rated companies can use them to provide information to their requesting companies to demonstrate actions currently conducted to mitigate any improvement areas they have received in their most recent assessment.
Corrective Action Plans are under the My Performance tab on your EcoVadis platform. The CAP function provides all the improvement Areas you have received on your recent scorecard. It allows you to describe current or future practices and attach documentation to show requesting companies what your company is doing to mitigate the improvement areas.
